Again as I said at the beginning of the year, Franklin would lead the Dores to a winning season with 7 or 8 wins this year. They are building something special in Nashville with VU football. The other SEC/ACC fans, includingUGA and GT, do not realize it. But the recruits and the people that really follow SEC football and Vanderbilt football know this.

VU administration is committed to winning SEC championships. They believe now finally that academics and athletics can go together. What really turned it around for the administration is that even though they have been listed as a top 20 academic school the last 10 years, their reputation with top students still was not great. Top academic students around the country knew more of VU being bad in football than great with academics.

This got the administration attention and now they are all in for VU football. They see a great opportunity to keep their academic reputation but to create a better brand/ reputation by changing the narrow minded perception of VU being other than they are terrible in football.

They realize they can improve their 17 ranking amongst all schools by being known as being great in everything including football. They have the best recruiting story for any school in the south including SEC/ACC, etc. Go to a top 17 school, play in the best conference, live in the best city, network with a great alumni base, graduate more minority athletes than any other major school in the south, etc. They are committed to improving the facilities, and are gaining more support in the city of Nashville than every before.

I know especially in the south, I grew up here, old perceptions are hard to let go. But VU football is going for championships. Get used to it fans. Franklin is not going anywhere. VU is paying him one of the top salaries in the SEC. As long as they continue to show support for the program he will be there a long time.

Recruits know this, they see it and feel it when they go to VU. This year’s recruiting is ranked 11th so far. Next year will be even better. Great times at VU. Get on board!
